Mylar Wrapping Paper Why Don't They Just Wrap The Shuttle External Tank?

Why don't they just wrap the shuttle external tank? - mylar wrapping paper

Mylar break or something, so that pieces of foam from? I know it would give more weight, but I think the weight would be negligible.

The weight is not negligible. Not more than the cost.

He used to paint the tank. Well, not because it saves a ton of weight (only for the painting!).

In addition, the envelope of Mylar is likely to cause friction with the air, the (more energy and thus require more fuel) for launch.

And then one day, the Mylar sheet during startup wear, causing problems far greater than the parts, to break the foam.

Not much weight, but to catch fire. If the input is not time fly when you're done, after re-launch.
